A new project with renowned partners
Many clients discover Master Interior for the first time during a visit to our showroom. Others, who have previously collaborated with us, return for new projects. This was also the case for this partnership. The architect, munA architecten, had worked with Master Interior in the past.
“The initial contacts were video calls with the architect,” says Master Interior architect Hans De Bont. “Based on that input, I developed a proposal. This design was then discussed with the client using plans and mood boards during their very first visit to our showroom.”
Seamless transition
In the meantime, the project has been completed, and the furniture has been installed. “The architecture of the house is remarkable. It deviates from the typical building style of the region.
The home is equipped with various high-tech features: the swimming pool can be transformed into a terrace thanks to its adjustable floor, and the large windows can disappear into the ground. This completely eliminates the physical boundary between indoors and outdoors.”
Hans extended this seamless transition into the interior design. “The house is surrounded by stunning nature with a rich variety of green hues. We echoed these impressions in the upholstery of the furniture, incorporating subtle references to this beautiful grey-green shade.
At the street-facing side, a true design classic stands out: the Eames Lounge Chair by Vitra. While this piece is typically seen with black upholstery, the version chosen here by Hans is perfectly in tune with its surroundings.”
Unity
The oval Ufo dining table by Emmemobili is the eye-catcher on the ground floor. This monolithic piece seamlessly aligns with the custom-made elements in the home. Surrounding the table are the luxurious Aston Dining chairs by Minotti, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni. The seating area is defined by the timeless Turner sofa, accompanied by two Gillis armchairs from Molteni. Complementing this setup are the elegant Sen coffee tables (Depadova) and the ‘Vintage’ rug from the Belgian brand Limited Edition.
“Cohesion in an interior is achieved through repetition and subtle references,” Hans explains. For instance, the Sen side table (Depadova) and Aston armchairs (Minotti) also make an appearance in the master bedroom on the ground floor.
The Jacques poufs from Minotti add a refined touch in both the ground-floor bedroom and the wellness area. “The versions placed here are upholstered with outdoor fabric, making them perfectly suited for use in the wellness space,” Hans adds.
Wonderful evenings outdoors
On the terrace of both the guesthouse and the ground floor, a duo of Mirto sun loungers from B&B Italia invite relaxation. The terrace connected to the ground floor is fully equipped for cozy evenings with friends and family.
“Here, we placed a Poolside rug from Limited Edition, a Canasta table with Husk chairs (B&B Italia), and an elegant lounge area featuring a Paola Lenti Canvas sofa paired with an ultra-comfortable Husk armchair and ottoman (B&B Italia). The two Kosmos Shades parasols from the Belgian outdoor brand Extremis provide much-needed shade during warm, sunny days,” Hans explains.
The basement level has been designed as a guest suite, multipurpose space, and wellness area. Guests can dine at the round Container dining table from Moooi, accompanied by HAY AAC27 chairs, and unwind on the stylish Aston sofa.
“In the multipurpose space, the Arflex Marechiaro is the true showstopper,” Hans points out. “A seating island designed by Mario Marenco in 1976. We complemented it with a La Palma Jey side table, and the rug is a Kano Pattern Plow from Kvadrat.”
From olive green to sea blue
Here, too, connections to the other spaces were made: a Sen side table from Depadova on the landing and, once again, a duo of Husk outdoor armchairs (B&B Italia) paired with a Jey side table on the terrace.
“The higher you go, the more breathtaking the view of the Mediterranean becomes. On the lower levels, we incorporated green tones, while on the upper floor, blue takes center stage,” Hans explains.
Interior architect Hans De Bont takes great pride in this collaboration, and the owner is equally delighted. In fact, he is eager to work with Master Interior once again for the design of his private residence.
