Dining and drinking in style
Together with his niece Stien and nephew Wolf, Manuel Wouters transformed the former tavern ‘Aan de Molen’ into Mill Hill. The name refers to Keeses Molen, the nearby monument that is being restored. Stien works in the open kitchen, Wolf in the gelateria, and Manuel oversees the cocktails. Mill Hill is a cross between a country club, restaurant, wine and cocktail bar, and gelateria. In other words, a place where atmosphere and furniture make the difference.
‘Manuel knows exactly what he wants,’ says Master interior architect about the collaboration. ‘The VIP table, centrally located in the bistro, should have a playful shape and stand out. We chose the Isola from Linteloo and placed CH33P chairs by Carl Hansen around it.’
For the furniture at the gelateria, it was quickly clear that the ‘tools for togetherness’ from the Belgian brand Extremis would be a perfect fit. ‘The Virus picnic benches were anchored to the new terrace to prevent theft. And the Bistroo two-seaters are equipped with a handy removable teak tray.’
