The story of Master Interior: a pioneer in design.
Design, especially “Master,” should play a prominent role. When the Vermeeren family started, there was only a small group of interested parties and design enthusiasts. Besides the International Interior Biennale in Kortrijk, there was almost nothing. Ten years later, our interiors were featured in the authoritative Italian magazine Domus, and our architecture and interior design were showcased in museums in Bordeaux.
An evolution in design
Master itself has undergone a shift in focus in recent years. In addition to a strong brand strategy, Master has increasingly and more carefully sought out fashionable and, above all, good design. The content and presentation of our showroom undergo regular changes to keep up with new collections, design names, and initiatives. After all, living is a process of continuous evolution.
The important role of design in Flanders
Everyone involved in design in Flanders has a vested interest in the sector thriving. Yet, we still get the feeling daily that not everyone appreciates design. Doesn’t everyone notice those beautiful pieces of furniture or a piece of design poetry? A collection must be both personal and meet the desires of the design enthusiast. The designers we choose are all personalities in the design world who create furniture with character.
Iconic designers: a legacy of innovation.
Michael Thonet, the pioneer of bentwood technique, designed the iconic Thonet chair. His work revolutionized furniture production and laid the foundation for modern design. The Thonet chair, known for its simple yet elegant form and durability, is a timeless classic.
Charles Rennie Mackintosh, a Scottish architect and designer, is known for his unique style that combines elements of Art Nouveau and the Glasgow School. His chairs and furniture designs are recognizable by their geometric shapes and natural motifs.
Eileen Gray, a pioneer of modernism and one of the few female designers of her time, created functional and elegant furniture. Her work, including the iconic E-1027 side table, combines aesthetics with practicality.
Le Corbusier, one of the most influential architects of the 20th century, also designed furniture that reflected his vision of functional and modern living spaces. His LC4 Chaise Longue is an example of comfort and modernist design.

Master Meubel opened its doors in 1985, born from the experience of a family business. A distinctly different concept was chosen: exclusively high-quality design furniture from all over the world, supported by a unique environment and a deep-rooted passion for design and aesthetics shared by all involved.
