BAROLA stands for “bar, breakfast, lunch, aperitif.” “Melanie is very passionate about interior design, and her sister works as an architect,” says Master Interior Architect Anne. “She was already familiar with Master Meubel and had been here frequently.”
Melanie had already come up with some great ideas for her interior. She was particularly excited about HAY’s Palissade collection. Together with Anne, they refined those ideas to align with the concept of BAROLA. “Melanie wanted the space to combine the vibrant character of the city with the warm spirit of a rural village in the Kempen region. This needed to be reflected in the interior design.”

Binnen viel de keuze op de beukenhouten uitvoering van de HAY J77 stoel. Daarvan werden er een 35-tal geplaatst. Master Interior voorzag bovendien de onderstellen voor de tafelbladen. “Samen passen ze mooi bij de ronde vormen in de architectuur van het gebouw en bij de nieuwe terrazzo vloer.”
Een aparte zithoek werd ingericht met de minimalistisch Thonet 118 stoelen, ook in naturel beuken, en een travertijnen tafel op maat. “De Hanging Lamp n° 3 van Muller Van Severen zorgt voor extra gezelligheid. Aan de bar zet een Flos IC S1 de versgebakken taart of cake letterlijk in de spot.”
Inside, the choice fell on the beech wood version of the HAY J77 chair, with around 35 of them placed throughout. Master Interior also provided the bases for the table tops. “Together, they beautifully complement the rounded shapes in the building’s architecture and the new terrazzo floor.”
A separate seating area was furnished with the minimalist Thonet 118 chairs, also in natural beech, and a custom-made travertine table. “The Hanging Lamp n° 3 by Muller Van Severen adds extra coziness. At the bar, a Flos IC S1 literally puts the freshly baked cake or pastry in the spotlight.”
