Out of the box thinking
It doesn’t have to be classical.” When a client views their interior this way, it sounds like music to our ears. “My initial idea was more conservative, but I was encouraged to think ‘outside the box,'” says Master interior architect Glenn D’alleine. “I truly enjoyed working on this project.”
This loft, located near Antwerp, offers a fantastic view of a pond and the urban skyline. “The eye-catching feature on the wall is the pop art piece, which inspired the color palette. For example, the Edra On the Rocks sofa fits perfectly with it.”
Seating area and dining area
Next to the Edra sofa, there are two B&B Italia Husk Chairs in the seating area. “At the client’s request, the cushions have covers made from submitted fabrics,” explains Glenn. “We contacted several suppliers for this.” The whole space is defined by the large Kasthall Diamond rug.
For the dining area, Glenn and his clients chose a B&B Italia 7 dining table and Liz chairs by Walter Knoll. “The 7 table is designed for 7 chairs, but it looks better with fewer. In the dining area, there are white Liz chairs with black mini polka dots and no armrests. On the custom-made Porro Load It shelves in the niches, the reverse version is used—black with a white dot and with armrests.”
Desk and outdoor
The seating area and desk are separated by Porro Sidewalls. “They have a closed side and pivot, so you can use them as both a cabinet and a room divider.” The Vitra Citizen Highbacks invite you to lounge for hours. The pouf next to it was designed by Verner Panton. The amorphous yellow-and-white Cameleon rug from CS Rugs connects the seating area with the desk and accompanying chair.
The windows offer a beautiful view but also create a large flat surface. At the Master curtain atelier, a Kvadrat Seaside fabric in a gradient of black and white was custom-made for this project. On the terrace, there are several 1966 Adjustable Chaise loungers, a design by Richard Schultz for Vitra. This makes it a pleasure to enjoy the loft, both indoors and outdoors.
